Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of No-Mask, No-Surgery Therapy for
Sleep Apnea and Hypoxemia
ZHT History:
Based on increasing body of latest scientific research findings on
sleep apnea, sleep disordered breathing, heart attack, high blood
pressure, stroke, diabetes, asthma, cancer and chronic intermittent
hypoxia as well as obesity, the scientific and medical
community have come to realize the importance of sleep disordered
breathing, chronic intermittent hypoxia and common pathway of sleep
apnea for all other major fatal conditions and diseases.
Entire world is
seeking and making devices, drugs and surgical procedures to stop
snoring and sleep apnea based on our current sleep apnea model of
how upper airway is collapsed due to snoring.
The current sleep apnea understanding is incomplete and inaccurate,
as it failed to identify the main anatomical, neuro-physiological
factors and mechanisms for decades in not only how sleep disordered
breathing, from upper airway silent resistance to collapsing, but
also daytime vocal cord dysfunction and how they are equally and
continually co-conspiring in inducing chronic intermittent hypoxia
and central apnea.
Undiagnosed and
untreated prolonged hypoxia is the connecting link and a common
pathway for many medical conditions, including obesity, heart
attack, hypertension, diabetes, COPD, allergy, cancer, and mental
disorders as well as chronic musculoskeletal pain syndrome.
From late 2003 to early 2004, Dr. Jin Zhou researched on this area
and reviewed latest vocal cord dysfunction (VCD), trachea caudal
displacement (TCD) and sleep apnea research findings. In late 2004
Dr. Zhou hypothesized and clinically observed that vocal cord
dysfunction, apnea upper airway collapsing are mainly due to TCD,
which in turn causes mild to moderate hypoxia. Dr. Zhou identified
this TCD - Hypoxia Model, and developed a unique, simple, yet most
effective clinical therapy, Zhou's Hypoxicology Therapy (ZHT).
If Dr. Zhou's
concept and theory are proven to be true ultimately and
scientifically, ZHT/TCD could be the most significant health care
advancement in this decade.
Dr. Zhou was able to make these discoveries in part because of his
unique background. Prior to coming to the United States in January,
1988, Dr. Jin Zhou worked as an orthopedic surgeon at China Air
Force General Hospital in Beijing China, where physicians and
surgeons are practicing both integrated Western and Eastern
disciplines with scientific advancement along with wholistic
traditional Chinese Medicince (TCM).
He studied
Chiropractic Science at Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport,
Iowa in 1988 and graduated in 1991. Then Dr. Zhou enjoined his
clinical practice in chiropractic and acupuncture in state of
Illinois since 1991.
